Originally the area now making up the North Glenmore Park housing market was a stone quarry. Later, towards 1930, the Glenmore Dam was built and this stayed in place right up until real estate development began in North Glenmore Park in 1959. The dam became a focal point for early residents of the area in the years up until the area was officially established.

The North Glenmore Park neighbourhood has a population of approximately 2,400 residents. Most live in single-family detached homes; many of these original properties were built in the 50’s and 60’s. New developments and refurbishments have been slow to occur, but there are some apartments and condominiums for sale in the area, amounting to about 8% of all the North Glenmore Park homes for sale. There is also a fair rental market in North Glenmore Park which accounts for about 20% of the total housing.

The Glenmore Reservoir provides a vast array of walking and hiking trails, while Heritage Park is also just a short distance away. There are also a number of clubs that offer everything from sailing to golf, which means that there is something for everyone.

Shoppers are not left out either. Downtown is only a 10-minute trip away and the Chinook Mall is a short 15-minute drive away. If you want to stay closer to home you’ll have a selection of smaller shopping plazas and centres to choose from and the essentials are always close at hand. North Glenmore Park really is the place that many love to call home.

The North Glenmore Park Community Association hosts a variety of recreational and social activities ranging from basketball to bingo.

Home buyers in North Glenmore Park are spoiled in terms of choice when it comes to schools. Parents can choose from schools in the area, or those of the surrounding areas, which are easily accessed. Of the schools in close proximity, the Altadore School, the Ernest Morrow School, the Central Memorial High School and the St. James Elementary and Junior High School are particularly popular.
