Starting in 1954, the area now known as Glenbrook was annexed to the city of Calgary. This was a two-part process with the rest of the area being annexed in 1956. In 1958, real estate development began in Glenbrook. It took some time before development began on residences in Glenbrook and much of the work was not started until the late 60’s and early 70’s. Today, Glenbrook is home to just over 7,000 residents.
