Tuscany’s real estate market started in 1994 and it hasn’t stopped since, with new houses being constructed and new neighbourhoods being established for an increasing population. Named after Italy’s beautiful Tuscany region, the community is considered an affluent neighbourhood with home ownership at around 95%.

Tuscany’s natural ravine system, all 170 acres of it, offers the perfect steep inclines for slow and leisurely mountain biking. Clear and clean pathways are the perfect setting for uninterrupted hiking and afternoon strolls with gentler and smoother trails. Residents also enjoy the added bonus of Twelve Mile Coulee, which winds its way along the community’s edge. From here you’ll have panoramic views of the Bow River Valley and a spectacular view of downtown Calgary.

The active and vibrant Tuscany community is on a thousand-acre site and approximately 90% of the homes are detached family residences. There are also condominium units and Tuscany lofts available. Hosting several recreational facilities such as two tennis courts, a children’s playground and a hockey arena, the association also maintains the community’s garden, puts out the community newsletter, conducts social events throughout the year and facilitates book swaps. With all these opportunities for personal growth and development, Tuscany’s community has become a strong and unified neighbourhood.

Homes in the Tuscany neighbourhood enjoy access to schools right in the community. The Tuscany School provides an education to students from kindergarten to the 4th grade level and the Tuscany Middle School, upon completion, will service junior high school students. In the meantime, Twelve Mile Coulee School services students from grades 4-9 while separate school St. Basil provides education for students from kindergarten to 9th grade.

Varsity Acres and Dalhousie elementary schools provide immersion programs in French while Senator Patrick Burns and Branton Junior High Schools also have the same French programs. Public high schools in the Tuscany community include Bowness and William Aberhart.
