Charleswood real estate began to be developed back in 1959 and is a mature yet quiet neighbourhood in northwest Calgary. This thriving community is close to major shopping areas such as Northland Village and Brentwood Malls.

The Charleswood real estate area is bordered by Morley Trail and Canmore Road to the south, Nose Hill Park to the north, Collingwood to the east and Charleswood Drive to the west.

The homes here offer spectacular views, and this is what attracts home buyers the most. You’ll find mostly single-family homes here that were built around 1960, but you will also come across quite a few condominiums. Charleswood homes are located alongside Nose Hill Park, which offers amazing wildlife, natural grasslands and amazing ancient archeological sites.

As Charleswood homes are close to Northland Village Mall as well as Brentwood Mall, they are in a prime location. In the area you will find numerous parks and playgrounds giving the community a welcoming green charm. A popular place for residents is Canmore Park, where you can enjoy the bike paths that connect up with Confederation Park, the playing fields, the tennis courts and the many amenities for children that include a wading pool, a playground and water fountains. The community centre here offers both an indoor and outdoor rink for figure skating, hockey and lacrosse during the warmer months.

Confederation Park consists of a total of 400 acres and comes complete with walking and biking trails. For golfers, another favourite in the neighbourhood is the Confederation Park Golf Course.

Charleswood is a part of the Triwood Community Association, which also serves the neighboring communities of Brentwood and Collingwood.

Home buyers in the Charleswood community are served by schools including Capitol Hill Captain John Palliser, Banff Trail, St. Joseph and St. Luke. Junior High schools include Senator Patrick Burns, Simon Fraser, Branton, Madeleine d’Houet and St. Margaret. High school students can attend William Aberhart, Sir Winston Churchill and St. Francis.
