The Temple neighbourhood, which was formerly called The Properties, became a part of the City of Calgary in 1961. Today it is covered by four residential neighbourhoods including Temple, Whitehorn, Rundle and Pineridge. Temple’s real estate development began back in 1977 and it remains a low-density community to this day.

There are Temple homes for sale for practically any lifestyle. The single-family detached houses are a majority and come in a variety of styles and floor plans. Townhouses are also available here but their number is considerably smaller. There are also condos for sale in the community and can be found primarily in low-rise buildings.

The Temple community boasts plenty of green spaces and amenities. Templegreen Park is a favourite meeting spot for both young and old and Prairie Wind Park is only a short ride away from the community. It offers an outdoor pool, a skating rink and a toboggan hill. The public McCall Lake golf course is also close by.

The Temple Community Association provides a variety of programs and activities for residents. The recreational facility in the local area is the Village Square Leisure Centre, which is in neighbouring Pineridge. The centre has a large indoor wave pool with slides and a splash zone, two rinks for free skating, rooms for dancing and fitness, a weightlifting gym and a jungle gym for preschool children. Various types of programs are available to residents at the Temple community hall. The most popular ones are Scouts, Cubs and Brownies. There are also first aid and babysitting courses available while parents can take advantage of the preschool program.

Sunridge Mall is the closest large shopping facility to the community. The shopping area along 36 Street, which is home to Marlborough Mall, IKEA, Walmart, Home Depot, restaurants and entertainment facilities like movie theatres is also close by. With these great amenities and a selection of fantastic homes built in the 70’s, you just may find your special hidden gem in the Temple Community.

There are two public schools in the Temple neighbourhood, which include Annie Foote Elementary and Guy Weadick Elementary, which makes this neighbourhood ideal for hone buyers with young children. There are also two separate schools including St. Thomas More Elementary and Father Scollen Elementary and Junior High.
