The neighbourhood of Martindale became a part of the City of Calgary in 1961 and real estate development began in Martindale began more than two decades later in 1983.

There are two K-9 schools in the local area including Crossing Park and separate Blessed John XXIII. For students in grades 7 to 9, the options include Terry Fox and Bob Edwards junior high schools. You’ll have a choice between three senior high schools if you move here, including Lester B. Pearson, James Fowler and Bishop McNally schools.
