The Huntington Hills real estate market became part of Calgary when the area was annexed by the city in 1961, and in 1967 the first significant developments took place. Over the years, more and more people have flocked to this neighbourhood and there’s no sign of it slowing down.

Nowadays, the housing market in Huntington Hills is an even mix of owner-occupied single-family homes and condominiums. The single-family homes fetch moderate and reasonable prices, while townhouses are also available. With Nose Hill Park to the west of the community, quite a few Huntington Hills homes have prime park locations.

Today, the borders of the Huntington Hills community are defined by 80 Avenue to its north, CPR Tracks to the east, 64 Avenue to the south, and Nose Hill Park to the west.

The various amenities available for buyers of Huntington Hills homes have made the area a popular community for families. For example, the neighborhood is very near to numerous indoor malls, outlets, and convenience stores.

As for recreation, there are many options available for those looking to purchase a home in Huntington Hills. Young children can go to the preschool in the Sportsplex and parents can take advantage of workshops offered by the North Central Community Resource Centre. Some of these programs include mom and tots groups, support for single parents, art and fitness classes. For seniors, there is a great Pioneers program in place.

The local golf course will keep you busy on Sunday afternoons and if golfing isn’t your game you can check out the various programs at the Sportsplex, which is near the Huntington Hills Community Association.

Nose Hill Park and its many recreational facilities are also close to this neighbourhood, and so is Confluence Park. The Calgary Winter Club and its sports fields and indoor pools are nearby as well. This is a family-friendly area where all ages can enjoy the recreational options, the lovely parks and of course the affordable housing.

Families living in the area also enjoy a wide range of options in regards to schooling their children. Elementary schools include four public schools and two Catholic Separate schools. Junior highs include both a public school and a separate school. The local high school is public.
