Inglewood is the oldest community in all of Calgary. It was first officially established in 1875 when Fort Calgary was built, and was planned and designed by a number of remarkable men including James Macleod of Macleod Trail fame. Colonel James Walker was responsible for giving Inglewood its name, taken in 1911 from the name of Col. Walker’s nearby homestead.
