The history of Greenview real estate began in 1991, when it was separated from the Thorncliffe/Greenview neighbourhood. It covers the eastern portion of the previous community, while Upper North Haven covers the western section. Some of its major programs include Girl Guides and Boy Scouts and it is renowned for offering Tai Chi classes. Various social events such as dances and crafts fairs are also organised frequently.

If you’re thinking of buying a home in northwest Calgary, Greenview is a great option. The choice of schools in the Greenview area is quite diverse. Elementary schools include Colonel Sanders, Thorncliffe, Buchanan, Greenview Bilingual and the separate schools Collingwood and Senator Patrick Burns. Parents and students can select from several junior high schools. These include Sir John A. MacDonald, Georges P. Vanier (which offers education in French) and the separate school Senator Patrick Burns. High schools in the local area are John G. Diefenbaker, James Fowler and William Aberhart, which is a separate school and offers instruction in French.
