Currently, the housing market is undergoing redevelopment, but continues to maintain its historic landmarks. Real estate in Bridgeland provides home to a population of approximately 5,000 people. Its borders are the neighbourhood of Renfrew in the north, Deerfoot Trail in the east, Bow River in the south Edmonton Trail in the west.

This community dates back to the 1880’s. Initially its name was Germantown, and for decades the neighbourhood was called Riverside but its name was later changed to Bridgeland after the Dominion Bridge Company that was operating in the local area.

This predominantly residential neighbourhood offers a wide variety of condominiums for sale. There are also Bridgeland townhouses for sale and a small number of detached single-family homes on the listings. The architectural styles found here have been greatly influenced by European traditions. Here you’ll find more recent as well as traditional residential buildings.

You can walk downtown if you purchase a home in Bridgeland, take a short drive or catch the LRT which will take you to the city’s core in less than 10 minutes. There are plenty of recreational options within the community and the surrounding area. The main shopping hubs include 1st Avenue NE and 17 Avenue, which boasts plenty of fancy boutiques. Bridgeland Market is a great place for doing grocery shopping. If you want to take an evening off from cooking at home, you can select from a huge array of neighbourhood restaurants.

The two major parks in the area, Bottomlands Park and Tom Campbell’s Hill Park, offer home owners plenty of amenities for relaxation and sports. The Bow River pathway is a favourite for nature-lovers that love leisurely walking. When you’re looking for entertainment, the two main hubs for family fun include the Calgary Zoo and the Telus Spark science museum.

Bridgeland is part of the Bridgeland-Riverside Community Association, which offers a variety of volunteer and recreation activities for all ages.

Home buyers in Bridgeland will be pleased with the great variety of schools in the local area. Stanley Jones Elementary is for the younger students, Colonel Macleod Junior High School is for children from grade 4-9 and Langevin is a K-9 school. Crescent Heights High School serves students from grades from 9-12 while Christine Meikle is a school for children with special needs.
